A real project for someone with an interest in something a bit different.
A survey has recently been carried out on the hull and is available to view by arrangement.
This is a 58ft trad narrowboat in need of a complete fit out. A riveted iron hull of an unknown age, possibly an old BCN Joey boat (Birmingham Canal Navigations), with a lovely shaped bow and a traditional stern with long swims.
She comes with a 3 cylinder Ruston engine, the current owner has seen the engine running but the gearbox and stern gear are not connected. The gearbox comes with the boat but the condition is unknown.
A steel cabin has been fitted, the front half of which, in working boat style, is made to imitate a cloth covered hold. This has a large sliding section which can open up the living area on sunny days.
Internally the vessel requires a complete fitout. There is an Aga type stove on board (disconnected and condition unknown).
There’s no doubt this is a project boat but for an enthusiast she really could be made into a very special and unique boat with bags of character.
