‘Gussie Goose’ – 1996 Canalcraft 45’ cruiser stern lying Barbridge
‘Gussie Goose’ is an all steel 45’ cruiser stern narrowboat built in 1996 by Canalcraft to a high standard and well maintained since. Propulsion is provided by a Beta Marine 35 diesel engine with PRM150 gearbox.
Entering the vessel from the large cruiser stern the first room you come to we are showing in the photo’s as a dinette, however, this converts into a double berth and could be left as such if that is preferred. Underneath the dinette/berth is plenty of drawer storage space and moving forward into the corridor there is a small floor to ceiling cupboard for extra storage. This then leads to an off-corridor bathroom with shower, corner hand basin, Swivel cassette toilet and a good amount of cupboard and shelf storage space. Next is a ‘U’ shaped galley with 12v Beko fridge, combined gas oven and grill, 4 burner gas hob, sink/drainer and plenty of storage in lower and overhead cupboards and shelving. At the front of the cabin is the saloon with ‘L’shaped sofa, corner cupboard units and TV.
The saloon also houses a Bubble Diesel stove. Additional heating is provided by an Eberspacher Diesel system. The saloon then leads out on to a good sized well deck with seating either side and storage underneath.
Although built in 1996 the quality of this boat really shows with everything throughout feeling solidly put together, and this has been helped with the standard at which it has been maintained.
A survey from 2018 is available to view. Hull blacking is in 2 pack and she has a BSC issued this year.
