2007 BOAT SHOW LAUNCH
Westport Marine's New PILOT6
British six appeal !
17’ Performance Cuddy Boat
Westport Marine would like to introduce the new Pilot6 being launched at this years
Southampton Boat Show, in association with Howard Marine, stand B516.
Having launched our first boat the Pilot4 at last year’s boat show, we have had
a great first year with demand being almost overwhelming! Our biggest feedback
from the enquiries at the show was for a larger version, but still maintaining
the special look and character of the Pilot4 and with this in mind we put pen to
paper and have developed the 17’ Pilot6.
The Pilot4 was specifically developed for the trailer boat market, versatility
being her key feature. We wanted to build a boat that would not only be great
for anglers, but also be safe for children and have plenty of performance for
water skiing. The Pilot6 has taken this same philosophy and simply applied it to
a larger boat. We have kept the high freeboard and raised the deck to make her
fully self draining, increased deck area to over 46 square feet and fitted twin
helm seats as standard.
The Pilot6 has been designed as a capable and seaworthy coastal craft with many
uses including fishing, diving, water-skiing, bathing or just pottering around,
ideal for family days out or the serious sea angler. For anybody wanting
performance she can be fitted with a 90hp outboard giving speeds up to 34knots,
while for economy a 50 hp will push her along a up to 24knots.
We are really proud of the fact that using the latest computer design and CNC
manufacturing techniques we have produced the tooling and first boats in less
than half the time it would normally take, and to a greater quality and
accuracy.
At Westport Marine we are not only dedicated to building a range of boats that
will stand the test of time, but also investing in our design and production to
ensure that we can deliver our boats to the highest quality.
